This Spring has been bountiful with rain and our pastures are lush!

This means our animals are also flourishing on green orchard grass, red clover, white clover, fescue, blue grass, dandelion, nettle, violets, burdock, thistle and more!!!

Our meat will be as nutrient-dense as ever this year. And, we predict a good hay season to stock up for the Winter.

We are blessed.

When Weston A. Price traveled the globe visiting remote villages, he found that the cultures (Swiss, Gaelic, Inca, African, Maori, Polynesian, and Native American) that had the least dental caries, strongest bones, widest dental arches, no gum disease, least deformities, hardiest mental, physical, and emotional bodies, almost no modern diseases, easy and healthy births, and were generous, humble, and happy were those who ate the majority of their foods from animals that either came from the ocean and/or lived off of guess what?

Green Spring Grass.

FYI, the healthiest of these remote cultures, the Eskimo and Masai, ate a majority of their animal foods raw, rare, or fermented whether it was seal, whale blubber, caribou, organ meats, birds, eggs, oysters, salmon, dairy, cow blood, bugs, and grubs.

A fine way to get these nourishing food into you and your family is to order meat from us now. Thanks to the abundant good forage, we will be butchering in July.

What's So Great About Grass?

Mama cows with their babies often live in grass environments but many of them are fed supplemental grain. And, most beef landing on dinner plates comes from cattle kept in huge confinement systems and fed only grain while they live in dust and dirt. The catch words that define beef from Simply Grassfed are “grass finished”.

Preparing for Winter

John and crew have been scrambling to get the barn renovations completed, shoring up the posts and beams, pouring new footers and concrete slabs, and replacing the 100-year-old siding and gates. Fencing and watering system repairs are getting attention.

Alvin's A2 Jersey Milk Cows

John and Alvin Fisher grew up milking and caring for the cows on their father’s farm in the 1980’s. Currently, Alvin operates the farm with forty-eight A2 Jersey cows that are rotationally grazed on chemical-free pastures and milked twice daily.
